Default Future Plans for my truck

MODS PLEASE MOVE TO GENERAL DISSCUSSION AS THREAD WAS STARTED BEFORE THE NEW GENERAL DISSCUSSON SECTION WAS OPEN

Well as some of you know someone ran into the front of my truck about a month ago, their insurance company finally sent me paperwork with a settlement of 2100.

That leaves me with 2100 to fix my front bumper I plan on going to a junkyard and looking at getting a 99-01 sport front end, I know pretty much everything I will need. If its too expensive I will stick to finding a older sport front end like whats on my truck.

I'm setting aside around 500 for bumper and grille and the brackets needed, and plan on using the rest toward a cheap paint job keeping the truck the same color. If I have enough will get new headlights and foglights.

I am going to get new rims with the help of my dad, I am most likely going to get a set of Cragar soft 8's there cheap and look good, going with them in a 16x8 with 5" bs. If I could find cheaper black rims of that style I would get them but I cant

Now since I have to get new tires I am looking hard at the definity dakota M/Ts the only thing that will change my mind on that is one hell of a deal.

Now a couple days ago I decided since I had some money saved up for a SCT tune I might just blow it now on a small lift so I found a 2.5 inch lift kit on ebay for about 200 with shipping

I will need new shocks at least for the front so I wanted to know if anybody knew the difference in length between the 2wd and 4x4 shocks, everything I have looked at has them being the same but just longer on the 4x4. Only dealing with front shocks at this time.

With the lift comes another decision on tire size, 265/75/16 or 285/75/16, my dad has a set of worn 285/75/16's that I will probrably test on my new rims to see if rub occurs and how much and that will most likely make tire size decision.

The last thing to be done will be the bedliner and painting my toolbox black, possibly with bedliner.

And hopefully in the next month or 2 my truck will look completely different and will have heads slowly turning

Any opinions, rants, raves or other BS always welcome

Ok well the lift and rims are ordered and on there way to my house, the rims are supposed to come in wednesday, bought them from summit with center caps and lugnuts.

The lift I hope will make it down here before the weekend so I can Install it over the weekend.

Will get pics of rims when they come in and pics of them on the truck when I get the tires might take a week or two before I get tires

Yea dont worry I will take pics of it all, it will be a nice and smooth transition for the truck during this summer.

I saw that you used the stock center caps problem is I have the sport rims so no center caps, plus I got the cragar caps and if I'm not feeling that little bit of chrome I will get them powder coated black

Ordering the parts is the first step. Since I joined, I must have posted 3 different "Future plans" threads.

I was inches from doing heads and intake on my 1996, then i started a fire under the hood of my truck and it cost 1600 to fix/replace parts. Spent 1000 on the new throttle body (got a fastman) injectors (got 24#ers), crank/cam sensors, plus every sensor on the TB itself!!! Wiring harness was 400, but i got too much. i asked for the uinderhood wiring harness, and they gave me ALL THE WIRES UNDER THE HOOD, not just the engine harness.

But I digress. Great job on ordering the parts. Get them installed

I had about $800 worth if parts sitting in the box for my camaro that I ended up selling for 50% of the original price, new in the box.

yeah, happened about a month after indy had his fire. Basically the same damn thing. I was taking off my fitch fuel catalyst to get a baseline MPG to report to the forum members. But I immediately drove it after disconnecting and reconnecting it. I never depressurized the system and there were some leaves in between the heads and intake that got soaked, and some bear the headers.

yeah, that sucked.
