Default From Stock to Custom Wheel Math Help

I realize the question of backspacing/offset etc.. has been asked many times on this forum. However, I want to ask if my math is correct.

Will you guys with experience in this area chime in?

Current Proposed
Wheel Size 16x7 18x9
Backspacing 5.5" ??
Offset +38mm +20mm
Tire 265/75/16 35/12.5/18
Tire Width 10.5" 12.5"

Relation to Tucked in 1" Sticking out about 3/4"
Fender

I'm thinking that I will gain 18mm (3/4") from the backspacing and another 1" given the wider tire.

1. Does this math sound right to you guys?
2. Will they fit a non-lifted 2WD 1500?

Tires are sized in two (2) different ways.

a) 265/75/16 = section width in mm / aspect ratio / rim diameter

Or

b) 35/12.5/16 = outside diameter of tire / section width in inches / rim diameter

The second type of sizing (b) is highly useful for light trucks given that you don't have to do the math to figure out the outside diameter of the tire, it is already spelled out (35")

I still have the daystars in

35's on a leveled 2wd, no offense but keep dreaming

Your looking close to 5 inches to get 35's to fit, 33's with that maybe

Redhead,

No offense taken. I asked for honest answers and thats what you gave. Thanks for the feedback. I'll target 33's then.

On the fender/tire spacing issue, does my math jive?

No way, not on a 2 wheeler. A 3" body wont clear 35's on a 4 wheel drive without trimming.

To the OP, your math seems quite close, but it is hard for me to add it all up without knowing the new wheel backspacing.
