Default 95 dodge ram idle problem

so i put a throttle body spacer on my 95 dodge ram 1500 with a 360 5.9 the first time i put it on i forgot to put a second gasket on it because it came with out it. so i put the new gasket in and replaced the old one so there is 2 new gaskets on it. in doing so i broke a vacuum line on the front of the throttle body. i forgot about it due to a short amount of time in my Auto class so i drove it home i noticed that it idled very high about 1000 rpm in park and 800 rpm in gear. i reinstalled the vacuum line and started and drove agian but no change could this be fixed by resetting the computer?

couldnt hurt, give it a shot. pull the negative cable off and turn on the lights for 30 seconds or so and then hook battery back up and see what happens after a few minutes of idiling

... again, take off the spacer. they do nothing. did you say you have 2 gaskets on at once, or one on the spacer to manifold, and one on the tb to spacer? you most likely have a vaccum leak around those gaskets, causing it to idle high. resetting computer will do nothing

let the truck idle and mist some carb cleaner/starting fluid around outside of TB and see if your idle jumps or changes. if it does you def have vacc leak.

i have noticed quicker throttle responce and no there is no double gasket one between the spacer and the intake and one between the tb and the spacer. i will try the carb and choke trick tomarrow and if nothing will reset the computer thanks

You broke the vacuum line that goes to the MAP sensor which will cause high idle and that is most likely where your vacuum leak is coming from.

The "quicker throttle response" is in your guys' heads.

Our trucks are port injected, not TB injected, so TB spacers simply delay the air from getting into the manifold a little longer. That may actually hurt performance, at worst, and at best they have no effect.
