Please post your lift pics from under truck
I want to see what i need to do or decide to do. I have a 4.5 inch body lift and the front seems to look a little higher, should i get longer u bolts and add a leaf spring or what should i do id like to take it as high as you can go with a body lift, just picked up some brand new rancho shocks from salvage yrd for 4 bucks each
I highly recommend you reconsider the body lift, it may sit high but in the end you will have a lot of problems as well you will see the frame hangin out under the truck and it will be top heavy, if you save your money and go with an 8" lift kit you'll be in the clear and have tons of suspension travel along with a well balanced truck. I have a 3" body lift with a 5.5" fabtech long arm suspension lift and I hate how unstable my truck is due to the body lift. I guess to each his own but thats my .02!

Control arms, springs, spacers " usually " track bar, steering linkage, leafs, sometimes blocks depending on what brand, shocks, steering shaft also depending on how high you're going with it.
I would stay away from fabtech if I were you, mine is far to stiff, the weight of the truck is not enough for the coil springs up front I don't get much articulation before the truck start lifting tires off the ground. It sure looks purdy but is sub-par!

'cheap' and 'lift kits' don't belong in the same sentence. You are looking at anywhere from 500 to a 1000 dollars just for a four inch lift. Summit Racing carries a lot of different lift kits, and, from what I have found, pricing doesn't change much from place to place. Best thing you can do, is figger out which one you want, and then see if anyone has it on sale.
if these trucks were 1800's suspension tech, leaf springs all around, lift kits would be a lot cheaper... but, they aren't, so, they aren't.

As far as the original post, I think 4.5" of body lift is already too much, I certainly wouldn't add more. Where did you get a 4.5" body lift to begin with? The most i've ever seen is 3".
If you are just trying to level your truck out, that's one thing. Adding lift is another. You need to tell us more about how you use your truck, how high you want to go, etc... We also need more info about what kind of truck you have. 1/2 ton, 3/4? 4x4, 2wd? Gas, diesel? etc...
Here's the under of mine.
