Default custom switchboard (pics)

well i dont smoke and no one else is allowed to smoke in my truck to i decided to remove my ash tray and mold a piece of diamond plate to fit in its place to use as a switch panel, i mount the horn button for my air horn (see my other thread) a switch for my underdash neons, a switch for my lights in the bumper(need to be hooked up) and a switch for the lights on my rollbar (also need to be hooked up) and some alarm the PO put in. now i need a new piece of trim cause mine looks like swiss cheese

i was able to use stock screw locations to hold it in place so i can always but the ash tray back in if i sell the truck

pretty insane, i was just measuring my opening today to do the exact same thing while ive got my dash apart doing my viper install.... i have 2 switches for lights, the neutral safety switch for the viper system, as well as a place to mount the microphone for the glass break sensor, and i figured id do the same thing since the ash tray is never used... glad to see what it would look like... looks good

let me know what you do about your "swiss cheese" (lol) dash piece... ill have the same problem if i re-locate my switches

Looks good! Never thought of doing something like that for switches but then again I want to keep mine as that's where I put my ipod and plan on keeping it in there when I get a new radio with a aux jack in the back so I can hide the wires.

Same...I'm going to be looking on ebay here one day for some new interior pieces. The same dash pieces plus my transfer case shifter have holes.

i just took the ash tray out laid it on the diamond plate traced the width gave some extra length, put a piece of scrap from my headliner taped to a hammer and used the top of one of my vices to get the curve, took a while but i got them, put some carpet ove the vice for the second bend.

that cord is some security thing the PO put in, if you remove that little chip the truck wont start
