98' Ram 1500 4x4 318
Ok this is not my silver 4x2 but my grandfather's 4x4 Ram.He loved when my dad got one so decided to get his in 4x4.Well on to the problem it deals with the power steering, throttle cable and gas pedal.Ok so the power steering is out on the truck and there are no visible leaks or cracks in the lines.Only time the steering loosened up is when gas is applied but now that doesn't even work anymore. The last time I drove this truck I almost crashed because it refused to get out of gear with me pushing the clutch all the way in.I pulled into an empty field and turned the truck off. Then started it back up and with my foot not on the gas pedal the truck proceeded to rev up.The pedal then became hard.It does not feel normal sorta like how toyota pedals get after a while. So no power steering, hard pedal and loose throttle cable. What should I check out here?
get under the hood and follow your throttle cable and make sure nothing is wrong with it anywhere, and make sure nothing is binding it up at the throttle body. as far as your power steering, might be a bad pump. that might be why it would only work when throttle was given bc the belt would increase speed and make pump possible work.
