Default Smaller tire size on 16" ram wheels?

I have an 05 dakota and recently put a set of 16" wheels with 265/75/16 tires from an 01 ram on it. The tires are pretty worn out but still rub a little. I did some trimming and most of the rubbing is gone. I need to pick up a new set of tires and I know it will rub more with the new tires. Is there a smaller size tire that will fit on these rims so I won't rub as much? Thanks in advance.

you could go to 245/75/16's, they'd be narrower and shorter. Where are they rubbing, on the wheelwells?

Yeah they rub on the plastic mudflaps and other places depending on if I am on a hill, turning slowing, etc. Good to know that 245/75s will fit the rims ok.

You can put any tire that fits on a 16" rim on there. Since it only rubs a little and it is a street truck then I would go with 255 70 16 or a 255 65 16
Here's a good one http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

Where is it rubbing at?
