radiator question
a girl that wants to work on a car? every mans dream right there. hahaha. look in the FAQ section under DIY i know its been covered but cant remember exactly. maybe someone will chime in with a direct link
Drain your radiator. use the plastic petcock on the lower rear of the radiator. use a 10mm socket wrench to drain the coolant from the bottom of the engine block.
Step 2
Disconnect the butterfly clamps holding the radiator hoses in place. A Dodge Ram has fairly large hoses, so you'll need a pair of pliers to release the clamps. Disconnect the transmission coolant lines if your Ram has an automatic transmission.
Step 3
Remove the overflow bottle and washer fluid bottle. This gives you room to remove the fan shroud and disconnect the fan assembly. you need to remove the fan shroud and position it near the engine. Disconnect the fan wires.
Step 4
Detach the radiator from the two upper mounts with a 10mm socket. Pull the radiator up and out.
Step 5
Place the new radiator in the engine compartment, and use the two alignment pins on the bottom of the radiator to make sure it is properly situated.
Step 6
Reconnect the radiator hoses. Reattach the other components you removed, in reverse order.
Step 7
Flush the new radiator with a commercial treatment to remove any factory debris. Replace the coolant with a 50/50 antifreeze and water mixture. Remember to bleed the air, or you'll wind up blowing your new radiator.

i dont believe there is DIY or i am blind thats possible too. however it is fairly simple. f
1. Drain the radiator (plug is found on the bottom right hand side ( or drivers side when looking at the rad))
unscrew the cap to release the vacuum but make sure your bucket is big enough as the coolant will shoot everywhere
2. remove upper and lower hoses, simple hose clamps, the bottom can be a PITA sometimes.
3. unscrew the fan shroud 4 screws that are hex or the star thing (cant remember exactly) found on the inside of each corner on the shroud.
4. unscrew and remove tranny fluid lines, some fluid will drip out but shouldnt be to bad. they should just unscrew at the rad fittings. may need the clip removal tool that is the same as a fuel line disconnect (can get at any parts store)
5. remove 2screws that secure the radiator to the rad support, lift straight up on the radiator and then install is just as easy.
someone fill in if i missed anything, but ive done it several times and thats all i can think of, it should take more than 15min. its really easy!
