Default Where you guys mounting your amps?

I got this amp the other day from my dad, it was in his newest Western Star when he bought along with 2 Kicker 6X9's in boxes that it was powering. I convinced him he doesn't need it, he wouldn't ever have the radio up enough to hear the damn amp anyways, and the truck already has 6 speakers and 2 tweeters in it....

So I'm tryin to figure out where to mount the damn thing, it's about 16"X12"... I was thinkin about mounting it to the bottom of the rear seat, but the only supports I can feel under there are too far apart... Also thought about just mounting it to the floor where it is is the pics, but I'd have to build something for it, the hump is too narrow.... I have the sub under my passenger seat, but I've got a couple newer 10's that I plan to put in somehow sometime... my current amp is a small cheap Jensen that is just kinda wedged under the center front seat atm, I'll probably keep it to power my Kenwood doors...

I'm still undecided whether to put the kickers in the wife's Blazer, or keep them for mine and give her my Kenwoods... Either way somethin has to go in her truck, speakers are shot in it and she's been on me to do somethin about it....

Just lookin for some of your ideas that you've done

It's too bad you don't have a regular cab. Unless there is some space behind the rear seats, I have never fiddled with the interior of an extended cab.

I don't wanna put it lengthways, it sticks out from under the seat too much. I have a 3 yr old and 5 yr old, you can see where i'm goin with this.....

Ramsport that looks good, but ya there isn't near enough space behind our rear seats... They aren't mounted directly to the rear of the cab, but there wouldn't be any room in there...

If you are taking out the sub under your passengers seat I would put the amp there.
There is a box maker that makes a box that will hold 2 - 10" subs and fits under the rear seat.

Mine is set up with the amp under the center seat in the front, Cap under the drivers seat, 2 JL10w6's in that box under the rear seat.

a buddy of mine has that box for under the rear seat, got it for a steal on kijiji aaargh... I'm still tryin to get it outta him

What about taking the center seat out and rigging somethin up under it, then reinstalling the seat? Is it hard to get out? Just four bolts isn't it?

Yea I believe it was just 4 bolts.
I just made some spacers and mounted it to the floor.
The length of the amp front to back.

I have seen where people have made a center console and incorporated the speakers and amp in it.

I have an old CD changer on the floor under my driver's seat that I plan on replacing with an amp when I finally upgrade my system. You think your amp will fit there??
