Ok well lastnight I was coming home on the freeway and mostly everytime I would hit some bumps on the freeway over 50mph the truck would shake real bad I would almost have to come to a dead stop to make it stop shaking about 3 times I pulled off to the side because it was soo bad. Now the thing is it only does it at higher speeds and ONLY seems like its the front that is affected by this. I was told it was the steering damper I looked under the truck and the damper is leaking. Any other suggestions?

IMHO i wouldnt drive it until thats fixed....it can easily cause other componants to go bad.

 

it wouldn't be the steering damper I can tell ya that much... I bent mine once and the truck wouldn't turn to the right AT ALL, so I pulled it off on the side of the road and drove for months without one on there...

Yeah well when I looked under the truck on the trac bar the boot was all ripped up

 

it could be a loose pitman arm, my buddies 3/4 ton had the same problem. There is a kit you can buy it's basically a bar that goes under the pitman and holds it steady from the bottom as well. solved his problem.

 

drop pitman arm wouldnt make it only happen at higher speeds...

99% sure its the tracbar
