Default Coolant leak- Head gasket??

ok i was doing the axle seal....again, and when i did it a few days ago, i worked under the truck and there was no leaks.

i moved the truck not 15 feet to work on it again, and now theres coolant splashing down from the back of the motor. i cannot pinpoint the leak. assuming its the head gasket...

what should i look for when coolants leaking out the back? manifold is torqued to spec.

please help...the leak makes about 4 drops to the ground every 10 seconds.

freeze plugs or a crap gasket between the intake and the heads.

Pull the transmission.
ask lblair about it, he just had to change his.

You need to find out where it's coming from for sure first though. It would suck to pull the transmission and have it turn out the be the intake gaskets.

well i just took a look at it in depth...its not the freeze plugs....i counted 2 on the back side of the motor. and a few on the side...all are new silver looking...thinking PO changed them before.

found that the coolant is leaking from the drivers side, and from what it looks like, it looks like the head gasket....i couldnt really see the back of the manifold...so im going to look there next.

Steal a mirror off one of your girlfriends compacts and get a flashlight so you can see the back of the intake manifold.

That sucks man, but on the driverside it's either going to be freeze plugs or the gasket.

i dont know if its squirting...but the leak does appear to be over the head gasket...I used the hughes intake gaskets and torqued to spec.
