Looks like that shock tower can handle dual shocks? I cant tell from the picture but it looks like you could run duals. It looks to be around a 2-4" lift. Try to do some research but it looks like 2-4" of lift

The guy I bought from claims it can. I would like to try it but I want to replace all the shocks at the same time before I do that.

WHat is the consensus round here about runnig without front shocks, the ones I have apparently arent doing anything except giving me a rough ride.

Yeah that's the best way. Remove the shocks then lift up the truck so the suspension is extended. Measure the distance between the centers of the shock mounting holes.

As in full extension with tires off the groound, Or just muscle **** the bumper and measure then.

Yeah tires off the ground. The idea is that you want to know the travel the truck is capable of so you don't get a shock length that is too short if that makes sense. Too short could cause the shock to fail as the truck unweights over big bumps and the tires go down in the travel and run up against the end of the shock extension travel.

You might try muscling the bumper but if you can lift the tires off the ground that way remind me to never mess with you.

Thomas Blackstock

to me
show details 2:44 PM (21 hours ago)

I believe you have a 6" series 3 kit from Dick Cepek. We carry the replacement shocks for that kit which are 35.00 dollars each plus 4.00 for shock boots each.

Thanks from Thomas @ Extreme Suspensions
The email I got. I guess I am going to buy shocks for a 6in lift, I figger that if is a little smaller then I wont run into to many problems.

I just wonder how good of shocks they are though for 35 bones, I am going to the 2 local 4wd stores this weekend and see what they got for sale.

I've run without front shocks for a few hundred miles with no ill affects. You just have to watch your speed and don't take any huge bumps with any kind of speed, or you WILL meet the bump stops. It will take longer to stop too, the front end dives pretty bad without front shocks.
