how can i get more power out of my 5.2
I had been running 24# injectors with the pcm and my 5.2 got very good gas mileage. 16MPG average. I think the injectors helped out because they were 4 hole injectors. So it was a more atomized spray.
But the performance was very good. my 1996 5.2 would blow the doors off my 2001 5.9 with the death flash (that I have now).
The having to use 92 octane was not that bad. When you think about it, your average fillup is around 20 gallons. And at 20 cents more per gallon, that is only 4 dollars per big fillup. Paying the extra 4 bucks for the performance was worth it.
Downside to buying 92 octane: You never know how long it has been sitting there since it does not "fly off the shelves" as fast as regular. I would get sunoco 93 octane whenever I could.

I'll try my best to refrain from being a smartalic, but you can't seriously think that headers and a CAI won't do anything for the truck, do you?
Every upgrade will net some increase in HP, given that it works better than the previous setup.
There's only 4 things you need to increase for more HP: 02 in, exhaust out, fuel, and spark.
Yes, headers and/or CAI will allow your truck to make more horsepower, it's a fact.

HEaders will not do anything. and a CAI will do NOTHING.
Get a round air cleaner if you want to do anything. Go to autozone and get the $25 Edelbrock PRO FLO.
I have a Mopar performance 92 octane PCM from my 1996. Wonder if it will work for a 1995? If your truck a 4x4 auto tranny? If so, then it will probably work. It is 285 brand new, and I was going to ebay it for 100.

+1 Any CAI is a vast improvement over the stock air box....the same can be said for exhaust.
if you do install a CAI. it's a perfect chance to clean the throttle body and sea foam the intake. i don't recommend it for the crank case though...i go with mobil1 high mileage and lucas oil treatment.

A CAI like the Spectre or K&N do the same exact thing that the 14x3 kit does... bigger filter = more air = slight HP gains.
The "heat shield" on these things is a joke. They don't block heat, they're just their to support the CAI. The only true CAI you'll get is one that completely encloses the filter, and there are very few types of those. And even then, that may not make an inkling of difference, as the air still has to travel into the kegger, where many will argue that it gets heated anyway.
Don't ever believe HP claims from any MFG for anything, CAIs included. You will gain some, and you may gain a tiny bit of fuel mileage, but you will never gain what they claim you do.

Isn't that a fact! If you gained everything that they state, then we would have trucks that have 300 horsepower with three mods! lol With a lot of modding, you would be lucky to reach 250 horsepower to the rear wheels....
i have decided not to do anymore modding, im selling the dodge and buying a newer quad cab 4x4. if anyone is in the indiana area and is interested in my truck let me know. im selling it for $3,850. Its has a newer black paint job, silver bed stripes, new 20" wheels and tires, tinted windows, tinted tail lights, NEW-brakes, rotors, calipers, drums, shoes, plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, IAC, TPS, MAP, o2,. Interior is very clean, no rips, tears.
