I'm getting ready to do a rear disc conversion on my Dana 70. Bought my brackets from RUFFSTUFF Specialties for under $50, mid 1970's Chevy rotors and calipers cheap at the parts store. Just need my SS brake lines, should have it all completed for under $120. I didn't look at the the kit but they are generally way too high for something you can piece together yourself.
I agree ky bigram. I spent $500 i think for my 60 rear. and it did not come with rotors. I got the calipers with the kit for parking brake. If i were to do another i would buy just brakets. This is what i found out : for rear disc. 78 chevy 3/4 front calipers work great. If you want Parking brake then get rear calipers from a 78 catilac.
Kraiger did you change your master cylinder by chance? I'm hearing from some people it may be needed but they have smaller 'Yotas and Jeeps. Hoping the stock one works fine, I just use this truck for offroad.
No i didnt change the master cylinder because when i went to napa to get a one ton they informed me that a 2001 has the same master cylinder for 1500 2500 3500. But what i want to do is take out the factory proportioning valve and put a manual in so i can adjust the rears. I drive mine everyday and it works just fine.
