What octane should I be running?

RE: What octane should I be running?
Okay... It is a heavy 4x4, so I'll keep that in mind.
Michigan doesn't do any sort of inspections on cars as far as I know.
I want to try to keep the powerband down low as it is right now, but I am willing to give up some low end for higher RPM power. 245 HP and 330 ft-lbs is a good starting point, I'd like to see the HP come up quite a ways.
BTW, I filled up with 93 for now, no pinging at all. The Synpower did help a bit, but this finished it. For the extra couple of bucks at fill-up I can't see why not. I might as well get used to it now.
I will look to do a timing chain. How tough is a cam swap since I'll be in there anyways?

well then, you might as well wait until I'm done with my truck... what your after on the low end/high end is the same for me and I'll be able to tell you what I think of my mods in a few days. the modded kegger is supposed to help on the upper end, the stock motor doesnt breath well above 4k and the mods to the intake are supposed to fix that. the other thing too is the stock heads tend to crack between the valves, this is why I went with the r/t's.
for the timing chain & cam swap... unless I missed something, on my 360, I could not pull the lifters out w/the head on. although I didnt try very hard, it wasnt easily done. they lifter was too long for it to come straight out.

I won't be getting the parts until at least July or so, just small stuff for now. I need to get the little odd and ends done, like the tie rod ends and front u joints. There are a bunch of squeak and rattles I am chasing down. This vehicle was not maintained properly. 83K miles on it and all I see done are plugs and oil changes. No wires, ignition stuff, etc.
It will get done.
It will get done.
