Johnny...I'm running a 265/75 now which is about 32", so 285/70 won't be much different. Further, I like the look of the larger tire and plan to do a 3" Body Lift soon.

Truegent...the original tires (per the door jamb) were p225s, so a "P" rated tire is fine. Further, I have p265 BFG long trails on now and have 47k miles on them.

As the guy with the gun said it is the air pressure that gives you the load capacity.

In reality, you will never notice the difference between the two tires.

Also another thing is usually the lt tires has more plies or a thicker sidewall which helps with sway and also helps to keep from puncturing sidewalls, when tapping curbs and things like that
