why are they so great whats different then just getting a gasket?

its the aluminum plate handles the heat and cooling cycles versus the crappy steel ones, if you just replace gasket this will happen again with leak so just do it right once

Do a search, there are at least one post a week about a plenum such and such.

But, the reason the stock plenums blow is cause they have a steel belly pan against an aluminum intake...different rates of expansion with heat = blown gasket. Hughes kit has an aluminum belly pan which matches up with your aluminum intake manifold and makes it so you dont blow gaskets anymore.

In addition, Silver says that the bolts bottom out in the intake which allows this to happen. Pick your poision. I have yet to do the intake and planned to do it this month while I had time before work starts... too bad I need work to get the money to do it lol.
