Default MAX AC Squealing Like a Pig!

MY 1998 1500 ram has a squeal/whistle coming from behind the glove box only when my A-C is in the MAX (recirculate) mode?? I thought it was the window at first but then finally isolated it to the AC max mode. Everything cools fine but just bothers the crap out of me driving. I hate noises like that...anyone got an idea what it could be?

Probably one of the blend doors not quite closing all the way. Don't know if you can get to it without pulling the dash though.....

I have the same problem. I asked my roomate whos in auto tech. The only thing he could think of was the bearings in the fan unit connected near the bottom of the of the dash near the glove compartment. It has about four screws holding it in. You can pull it out to check it or replace the whole fan unit for about $70.

I have since been experiencing the a-c vents shutting off when i accelerate at times..I have read the other forums and have checked out my vaccum lines in the engine bay..they all seem fine. I am wondering since the "squeal" that I am hearing seems to be coming from behind the glove box...would there be a vaccum line or device that could be leaking in there? Someone mentioned a check valve of some sort...are there more than one on the 1998 ram 5.2l engine?
