Suspension question
I just purchased my first truck. 2001 1500 5.2 2wd
As far as I am aware of the truck is stock. The only thing is the other day there was another 1500 (looked like a 98) next to me at a light and I was just a little bit higher.
Did the later years of the 2nd gens come with a little taller suspension or is it possible that the previous owner put some type of lift/leveling kit?

Or the other guy lowered his, or the road surface was crowned. Or his springs have settled more..... I am not surprised by an inch or so of variance in ride hit between similar vehicles. A lot depends on how they were treated/used.
Have a look at your spring mounts, especially up front. Are there spacers on the tops of the springs? If so, you probably have a leveling kit.
