motor swap 94 5.2 to 98 5.2

Exclamation popping in keg

after the motor swap and all the crap that has to be changed, after disconnecting the egr valve i am getting a little poping noise coming from the keg when shifting from first to second has anyone had this problem after disconnecting the egr i did the plenum gasket repair before installing the motor it doesnt effect the running of the motor it just going to drive me crazy till i figure it out P.S. a motor swap from a 94 to a 98 is a pain in the @ss you gotta swap just about everything and i mean everything

Is it back firing threw the intake?

Default popping through keg

yes it is backfiring through the intake (keg)and seem not to have any take off power

backfiring through the intake can be a timing related problem, which can occur from damage to sensor or wiring of crank position sensor and cam position sensor. crank sensor is often damaged in engine removal/replacement. cam sensor wiring is sometimes damaged in intake replacement. no personal experience, but a lot of people complain about non dealer crank sensors not working right.

another thing to consider is fuel sync. if the distributor has been out, or been moved, then fuel sync needs setting with an expensive scanner tool.
