Default yay day 3 and she hasnt blown up!!

well over the week end i traded my mustang for a 2001 1500 short bed 4x4. the only thing i regret is not doing it sooner. i was timid but i got there and it was a little better than ok truck. the seats are torn from th guy locking his pit in it while he went into the store. the paint is little scratched from i guess treee branches, but its on 315.75r16 bfg mud terrains and the 4wd worked so i was happy as a pig in ****. driving home it wouldnt go about 55.. on 281 here in san antonio thats very bad. i know with the 35s i was doing about 65 maybe but damn. monday i did a complete ignition tune up, turn the key and she runs perfect. no taps. no wierd noises just purrs. well i guess pops with the 3" duals. but i noticed i get that 2.3k rpm tap, did some reasearce on this forum and found about the ungodly plenum period we almost all have and the hughes kit to fix it so thats this weekend. anybody else have ideas what i need to check on these trucks?? thanx ahead
