Default A funny story

So today I finally decided to change my alternator pulley, with the original pulley from old alternator. Reason: The replacement one I bought from AZ was one rivet short, causing it to eat my belt. I found out the pulley are not the same therfore will not interchange. AFTER I painted the old one brand new, So I run down to AZ and tell to guy the problem. He says bring me the reciept and will change out a pulley from new alternator and trade with me. I come back with it and he can't get the pulley to slide off the new one (u could tell he didnt want to break out the jaw pullers so I tell hey if its easier, I'll just pop off the old one and he says bring it on. Ten minutes later, I got a brand new alternator again. Free. Popped on the new one and bought a new belt again and was go to go. I guess I kinda worked out....

im glad u got it sorted out, but y did the first alt not have the right pulley and the second one did, I work at a parts store and deal with alt's all the time, i know the ones that need to have the pulleys possibly swaped have a big warning label on them so u cant put a belt on it until u remove the warning, just so u count the ribs. Possibly the wrong year alt to start with or something, but still glad u got it from a place that took care of u. Customer service is the name of the game, If they arent happy with the store, regardless of price, they wont come back unless they really have to.

Absolutely, and the store that hooked me up on the new one didn't sell me the one I was returning, it was another AZ store that made the mistake. And it helps to be a regular customer where they know me by name

Thats awsome, The store i work at is an autovalue store, like Bond Auto Parts, but this one is private owned. My boss's philosiphy is, " if we didnt sell it, we dont cover it " which pisses me off because im the one that sees the customer face to face. Our customers tell us regularly that if it wasnt for my co-worker and I, they wouldnt even stop. Glad to hear that some stores do it right
