Default a little concern..diagnose me!

Hey everyone. Got a little concern going on with my pickup I'll see if i can describe it. When I turn the air conditioner on I can hear the clutch engage and then there's a clicking sound much like that of sticking a baseball card in spokes except a much deeper sound rather than lighter sound. It goes away when the clutch disengages. After awhile the clicking will go away until for the remainder of driving session. It happens just about everytime I turn the AC on. It also does the same exact thing when I switch to defrost (not in AC mode). So does the AC need recharged? It still pumps out nice cool air. something else going wrong?...or has someone tried planting a poorly home made bomb that is supposed to go off when I turn the AC on...?

Is the clicking sound the compressor clutch engaging/disengaging? Can you get it to do it when the truck is standing still, so you can open the hood and watch what is happening?

If it IS the clutch, you probably just need a bit more charge.

Like a leaf in the blower motor clicking? Or more of a metal sounding clicking?

Something like this similar happens to me around fall-time, a leaf will get sucked up in the blower motor so when you turn on the A/C or what-have-you, theres a clicking sound until it blows out or you take it out. Just an idea though.

Yep it does it when it is standing still but only after the first few minutes the AC or defrost is on, then it goes away all together after it cycles a couple of times. if i get some time today and think of it I'll open the hood and have a look.

I would call it more of a metal sounding click. It doesn't do it when the AC is off or when I don't have it on defrost. Maybe I'll try to get a sound clip or video of it if I can figure out how to get such a thing on here for you guys to hear. Any ideas how to get one on here???
