[quote=HeyYou;2138975]Do you know if it was factory installed?

Aside from that, I haven't a clue. Might be better off just going and purchasing something that you KNOW will work, rather than taking a chance of having to wonder whose trailer that is passing you, only to realize it is yours........[/quote

I know it is not a mopar hitch is is diffrent than all the other dodge ram trucks I see.

for a 5000# camper - your hitch will be fine.
its the transmission you should be concerned about.
watch your temps and add a cooler if you don't already have one.

I have a oil cooler a trans cooler I am going to add a extra trans filter. I have 4.10 gears waiting to go in And will be buying a extra deep trans pan. Also I will be installing a oil temp and trans temp gauge before I pull the camper

Well... yes and no. With the trans cooler, load levelers, sway bar, and add-a-leafs and/or air bags you'll probably get by. In the final analysis, though, the trailer weighs more than the truck and I'm assuming it also has a leverage advantage if it's that heavy -- it's, what, 24' to 28' at that weight? Maybe an older 22'?

I had a 22 footer that towed like a hole in the air 99.9% of the time behind my short wheelbase truck, but every now and then the highway would conspire against me and the trailer would take control of the steering and my adrenaline levels. I had add-a-leafs, bags, 11.5" wide tires on stiff rims, load levelers, sway bars, and absolutely perfect weight distribution (measured on a truck scale) but every now and then that short wheelbase was a problem.

All other things being equal, I'd want a long wheelbase 3/4 ton truck in front of that much trailer. Heck, all other things being equal I'd want a fifth-wheel on that long wheelbase 3/4 ton truck.

I'd throw that one away in a place where no one else would ever find it and put it to use.
