Thumbs up 2 in. hitch fasteners

It's best to start at the bolts that attache your hitch since it's not factory and you didn't install it. It should have Grade 8 bolts or as one has already said, you could be passed by your own. A grade 5 bolt will have 3 short lines running out from the centertowards the hex flats. A grade 8 will have 6. no lines is a grade 2 and should never be used except maybe on wood.

I recommend attaching the break away cable to the bumper and the safety chains to the hitch then to the bumper, that way if the hitch comes off you won't completely lose the trailer.

could some one with a class3 and some one with a class4 take a tape and see how long the bracket that goes along the frame is because I was reading on a web site the bracket on a class 3 hitch goes farther back on the frame than a class 2 and a class 4 goes farther back than a class 3.

Hopefully three pictures are worth three thousand words:

That's a factory tow package hitch.
