You cannot make a marketing pitch emptyhanded. I know. I am in Marketing (the commander of an Army Recruiting Company).

It is like when a Radio station comes to me and wants me to BUY air time from them. We don't like radio, because we end up getting the 3AM airtime. But they try to peddle their airtime. They need to come to me with this:

Return on investment. Basically Hughes would be paying for advertising and more business by offering discounts. Plus they may get referrals and return customers. Referrals should be about 20% of your business. ANd return customers about 40%. So that is 60% of your total business.

Basically, Hughes would "pay" for this discount for a mass order. But they would get some return customers and referrals. If someone gave me 15% off an airgap, then i would tell someone else that they were great to deal with.

But I need numbers. Without you guys posting, I can't crunch some numbers. it would be like the Radio station peddler not telling me how much of an audience their station has, or what area it covers.

I am doing this so I have some ammo when asked questions. I throw something out there, and then they throw something back. Whether it be 15% off the total price or certain deals for specific items.

I am sure we can get something if we can prove that there is a RETURN ON INVESTMENT.

We can have two people ordering 2K worth of parts, but Hughes would much rather get 20 NEW CUSTOMERS spending 100 each.

If I can get the airgap for a lower price, then I'm in.

Hi guys,
Okay here is the deal. It took me a lot of talking to get this done so I hope it helps you out. Here is what I can do. If one of you will organize a group buy of FI AirGaps and Plenum Repair Kits and then pay us with a money order or cashiers check (to avoid credit card fees) I can get you the following prices on a one time deal of at least 10 FI AirGaps and however many plenum repair kits you want to add with them.
HUG5409 FI AirGap Kit Retail $599.99 Dodge Forum Price $525.00
HUG7714 Plenum Repair Retail $86.00 Dodge Forum Price $76.00
HUG3205B Gasket & Bolts Retail $44.90 Dodge Forum Price $40.00
I cannot do free shipping but if you call and ask for Kevin or Tim we will work with you to get you the best rate, delivered to your door that we can.
If this looks like something you wish to do, have whoever is coordinating the group call or e-mail me direct to work out the details.
Thanks for giving us this opportunity and I look forward to working with you guys.

I appreciate your efforts in working with us; however, I have a question regarding shipping. I sell a lot of parts on another forum related to my Volkswagen hobby. One aspect of businesses I do not like is how sellers rape customers on shipping. For example, it is not uncommon for sellers to charge a flat rate (ie anything up to $100 pays price X; $100.01 - $200 pays price Y, etc) yet the price to ship a $20 order was far, far below the flat rate in shipping.

Therefore, my question is this: Say I order the Hughes Airgap Intake at the price of $525. Will shipping be flat rate on a scale, actual USPS, or -- ??

I understand the how's and why's of the scale for shipping but I just don't like it. To me, it's a method sellers use to pad their bottom line; otherwise, I'd be inclined to spend more money.

Again, thank you for the time and effort to serve our outside interests.
