Default Thoughts on new exhaust...

I have a si/do Flowmaster 50 series with the chrome tips removed. The truck sounds pretty good, but i want louder, i'm thinking of putting a cherry bomb extreme on it. Does anyone think it'll sound better or louder? or just stick with the flowmaster.

I removed the mufflers from my truck in favor of a strait pipe. I like the way it sounds but I think the neighbors will not like it as much as I do. I might end up throwng a glass pack on to mellow it out just a hair. One thing to note is it does cackle a bit in the mid RPM range if that is a concern. As I said I kind of like the sound it gives. It sounds like the general lee or smething. lol.

my exhaust ends right after the CAT lol, and she sounds good and loud (not to much crackle believe it or not) It was straight pipped, but when i went off-roading i bottomed out and it ripped my pipe off lol.

I have had all kinds of exhaust...if you want a good sound just go with a Super 44 or original 40 series, but if you want a different and good cackly sound, just put on a cherry bomb. With straight pipes you lose some low end power, but my truck sounds the best with the exhaust I have on it, and I have the best gas mileage/power from those two purple hornies on it

Just the chrome tips they put on the ends of the pipes, it's louder without them, and i think it looks better. man ur truck sounds nice.

Says the guy with the throttle body spacer.

It seems an odd thing to say unqualified like that. For example does this statement apply to all engines and pipe sizes in general and is this the result of back to back dyno runs to scientifically test/compare the various configs?
