Only starts when given gas
I have an 01 4x4 laramie, it did not want to turn over and start for me the other day unless i gave it throttle. it will drive fine but as soon as you come to a stop it wont keep idling, it just dies unless you throw it in neutral and keep it revved up. any info would help big time.
Thanks alot guys

Welcome to DF.
First things I'd look at, and they are very easy to get to and replace, IAC and TPS, both on the throttle body. (For definitions of acronyms, visit the 2nd Gen FAQ at top of the main 2nd gen page, and look at the glossary thread.)
Either of these could cause the issues you are describing, and if memory serves, are less than $50 a piece. I'd go grab a TPS from O'Reillys or Advance Auto (stores with a good return policy) and install it. Disconnect the battery for several minutes, reconnect. If you still have a problem, reinstall the old TPS, take the new one back to Advance and trade it for an IAC motor. Install that, and repeat the disconnect/reconnect thing with the battery.
If those don't fix the issue, you may be looking at a bad fuel pump.

^^ Could be a bad fuel pump pressure regulator. There are voltage tests for the TPS and IAC. I'd check into those first before replacing them. The pressure regulator can be replaced as well, although it's a bear to reach as it sit atop the gas tank.
I have had this happen to me before when my battery went dead and I got a jump. I just drove it around for a day and the computer re-set and it worked fine afterwords. Maybe the same issue if your battery died recently.
Also, My battery did die recently and will not hold a charge so im sure that it is bad. I need to get it tested, maybe since it will not hold a charge and is dead every morning the computer is just not re-setting.
