A couple of things that can cause oil to leak past the seals are.

1 Plugged axle vent tube
2 Bad ball-joints
3 Over full diff

If you have had a oil leak in the front diff it takes some time for the left over oil in the axle tubes to drain out.

The factory service manual can be found here lots of great info in it.

The actual tool makes it easier, but, folks have also used a length of all-thread, some nuts and washers to install it as well. Don't know if the parts stores would have the tool available, its pretty esoteric.

I had way more luck pulling the seals in with all-thread, posts #8 and #10 here

I tried the Yukon tool that's supposed to work in the diff but was underwhelmed by the concept and where it pushes on the seal.

Default Right front axle seal leaks

2001 1500 seal started leaking a couple hundred miles ago. Added Blue Devil axle seal conditioner.
Does not leak a drop now.
I am not a big believer in mouse milks. But this one absolutely did the job for me.
