Default hard time starting

I have a 1998 ram 1500 v6 that is giving me some startup issues. Over the last month i've replaced the spark plugs wires, rotors cap etc and the fuel pump module and i'm still having a hard to starting it up. The truck turns over fast but wont start up until the 3 or 4th try with me pumping/flooring the gas peddle. This happens usually after it sits over night, and after it first starts up for the day it usually starts up on the first try or second. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Got a scan tool? Really need to see what some of the various sensors think when the engine is cold.....

That makes it a bit tough..... Folks can make suggestions, but, that's all it will be, a guess. To properly diagnose the problem, you really need to know what is going on. That's one of the problems with computer controlled cars.... need to have some rather esoteric toys to work on em.....

You would probably spend less, by taking it to a properly equipped shop, and having them diagnose it, as opposed to throwing parts at it until its fixed......

Given your symptoms though.... I would start looking at the various temp sensors.

Can't help you with the water pump, but I'd look at maybe the engine coolant temp sensor. my truck was running like crap when cold (ran much better warm) and the garage replaced that sensor and it's fine now
