Default How did you fix this?

I went on a longer then normal ride today to try and ID this same problem. I have never had a limited slip before this one. My rear end when cold does not make any noise. Once it warms up it makes the noise, this noise only comes when stating off and making a hard turn.

I will be draining and replacing the gear oil and adding the additive tomorrow. To see if that helps. Any other info on this is appreciated.

I think it was $115 with a new Rubber Plug. I had to tow a trailer full of lead the next day so had the Rear end and Transmission serviced.

Default TY

Thank you very much.... Almost in the same boat I need to tow a boat tomorrow (not a lead boat thank god!!)... Hopefully the fluid change and a good visual inspection will be all it takes!!!

Thanks again!!

Default ..

Just finished this little job last night. I opened the diff to look inside, nothing out of the normal to my un-trained eye... No big chunks of steel just some greyish sludge at the bottom. I cleaned it out with brake cleaner then went to NAPA... Not sure if any one has used that Royal Purple.. (You would have to be a millionare to keep this stuff on the shelf.) I bought 3 jugs of 75-90w with the LSD additivie already in it at 18.99 a pop. I have had zero noise from the rear end. I took it for a two hour drive and then purposely came to a stop and made a hard right hand then left hand turn!! NO NOISE pops or clicks.

So it looks like changing the fluid was the key here.. Just thought I would finish this post off with my fix to this/my problem.
