whats the deal?
NAPA FTW! The cheaper parts from other stores cost more in the long run.
I get the lifetime warranted parts whenever possible, and keep the receipts in a binder in the vehicle so I don't get stuck paying for a replacement in some far away place just because the warranty proof is at home. NAPA store are everywhere, and I've done warranty exchanges hundreds of miles from home without any hassle at all.

You's a fart smeller! Seriously, though -- that's the way to do it, but watch out about advising people against cheap parts. I did that a while back and hurt someone's feelings about it. Unfortunately, I did not have a report for him to fill out and submit.
I could see that happening if you work for some automotive convenience store, but otherwise I'm at a loss to come up with a plausible scenario. How'd that come about?
the only wrenches i've got are monkey wrenches...
Pffftttt. Americans **** me off because they're so damned cheap, looking at the short term versus the long term. In the VW hobby, the tightwads will replace the same parts five or six times, getting nickeled and dimed to death rather than having spent good money up front on a part that will last at least 10 years. They think that if it's a 30+ year old car, "The parts just break more often".
You have monkeys work on your stuff?
do you have any of these ?
i've got several that are hand me downs from the old days of square nuts.

oohhh - look. i've never seen one of these.

I've seen the one you have as well as the offset wrenches. Pretty cool. Here's an oil field wrench I found on my property. I'm third or fourth owner of the property inside of 30 years, and from what I understand, the original owner worked in the oil/gas industry.
Oh, and here are my future plans for increased power on my truck.
That looks like the schematic on the patent for my plug-in electricity generator...
