I swaped dana 60s in my front a rear. Front from a 96 cummins and rear from a gas 94 2500. I know everyone says you have to move your leaf spring pads but i didnt on my 01. Everything bolted right in no issues. I run 37s with no problem but im also not running stock shafts in the front. The rear shafts are stock and they seem to be working just fine. Cowboy: im jealous. I would like to do a kingpin axle as well.

You probally got the rear axle out of a "light duty" 2500. They still had 2.5" leafsprings.
