I do my own transmission service and I was hoping my last service would correct the problem I am having. After adjusting the bands and changing the oil and filter, she (my truck) is still having trouble finding first gear particularly after coasting to a standstill.......all I get is a rev, then after waiting, the tranny will finally wake up and go into gear. Sometimes shifting to park and back to drive will help but usually, it will just rev down and then decide to get into gear. She's a 2001 2500 diesel with 120k miles. I think I'm basically in trouble in terms of solving this without a budget breaking new tranny but I'm going for the "Hail Mary" here in hopes that someone knows of a few tricks I might try before losing hope for an affordable solution!
