Default synthetic/non-synthetic mix=bad?

I've heard the story before that once you run synthetic in your motor you should never switch back to non-synthetic motor oil. I got to thinking about this the other day and realized I do not know if the person who owned this truck before ran syn or not. I am currently running non-synthetic in it..... Would this be an issue, or is it just an old wive's tale?

shouldn't be an issue but if you are running a high mileage vehicle you should probably run a synthetic or atleast a synthetic blend

Id say no. If your real worried buy a blend of coventional oil/synth. Use this as a go between as you switch from one to another. But I would use mobil 1 synthic and buy it from walmart in the 5 quart bottle. You save 5 bucks over buying the 1 quart bottles. Then get a fram oil filter or the k&nn oil filter. I change my oil in my dodge every 3-5k. 3k if its stop and go use and 5k if its highway. I hear you could go 10k if its all highway miles but Id go broke from buying gas before I hit 10k in a oil change cycle. I only get 13mpg. hehe
