Default 1998 1500 5.2 p/u idling very bad

Hi guys. New to forum here and I need some help. I bought a 98 dodge 1500 pick up with a 5.2 a few months ago. Truck was running fine for awhile. Check engine light came on for a few days but there was no obvious problems. Light went off on its own. A few weeks later the truck began to miss when it was cold so I gave it a tune up (cap, rotor, plugs and wires). That seemed to fix the problem for awhile. A few weeks after that the truck would miss while driving at around 1200-1500 rpms and especially when in overdrive. I then had my brake lights stay on after driving and it killed my battery. Had to charge it and I almost couldn't get it started. I had to crank for awhile and had to floor the gas pedal. It now misses all the time. My cousin put a scanner on it and it showed that cyl. 2 and 8 where missfiring alot with 1 missing on occasion. Scanner showed dirty fuel rails being the top possibility. I ran a can of seafoam through it but did not help at all. I was just wanting some good pointers and opinions on where to look first because I recently got laid off work and I don't want to just throw parts at it. Your help would be appreciated.

Scanner doesn't know what fuel pressure is. There is no sensor for it. So far as I know.... The fact that the cylinders at the ends of the rails are the ones misfiring is sorta a clue.

Won't be able to try until tomorrow, but if the pressure reads bad i'm guessing it is pump or filter but if it reads ok it is dirty fuel rails or dirty/bad injectors?

If your pressure is good, taking off the rail, and cleaning things out sure won't hurt, and might just tell the tale. If you don't find anything obvious, check resistance of the injectors... they should all be pretty close to each other, I am unsure of the exact value....
