That seems like too much oil to be from the pcv after only a couple thousand miles. either way, I've been wanting an air gap and now I'm getting one. How much oil normally blows through the pcv valve anyway?

Do they have other intakes that are available for less that do away with the plenum?

It really depends how much blow-by you have, the more blow-by you have the more oil residue is gonna wind up in the plenum.
