Default just had my first scare

ok coming home from taking the wife to the library and getting a pic at the post office i stopped at a corner to turn onto my street and the damn truck died.....tried to start it a few times with no luck....had to put the gas pedal to the floor to get it started when i put it in drive it died...started it again with pedal to floor and had to have it about half throttle or so to keep it started when i put it in drive...got home and in driveway did it a few more times and finally it would stay running in drive at idle....just something in gas lines? not sure will be going out in a few to see if still doing it...any ideas should i be worried

Dunno sounds like a fuel pump or maybe a filter issue. Not sure though. I know someone will chime in soon. Been hearing lots of issues See what a search returns??

id say the fuel pumps going, the cat is clogged, or it may have a simble battery connection problem...

the symptoms you desrcibe are the same as my buddies truck....he changed the terminals, and all wasgood.

It could be the tranny. I remember when I tried to drive my truck after it was sitting for a long time (12 months) the tranny was sticky and actually took some gas to get it going. I had to feather the brake off while having the gas down a bit to get the RPMs up. Like feathering out the clutch in a manual.

Problems could range from lots of areas. I am thinking ignition/electrical.

found the codes i think...12 battery has been disconnected...14 is map sensor...55 is end of codes.....but the way i read it the map sensor can be several things..bad map sensor...clogged air filter...clogged cat....or even a vac leak....anything else?

I would solve the battery problem first, it's amaising how a short in a system can cause more havoc than it actually is. Clean and tighten your terminals and take your truck for a drive. Leave the battery disconnected for ten mins and it will take the codes off so when you drive it if there are any new codes they will show up.
