Default Going to buy 1999 v8 what to check?

Hi, all
I'm going to buy 1999 v8 ext cab with 170xxx miles.

Did little research and the first thing I'm gonna do is to warm truck up by driving around and than check transmission fluid on level ground in neutral.

What else should I look for? This will probably be my first truck, so I do not want to get screwed.

everyone will tell you to take the air intake off and look down in the throttle body and look for oil, if there is, then the plenum on the bottom of the intake manifold is blown, dont mean dont buy the truck though, 80 bucks will get it back new. and if you look on the pcm on the passengers side to see if there is a sticker on it sayin something bout software update that means dodge updated it so it would not create a knock or nothin because of the plenum being blown. only other things i can tell ya is the tranny. if it hasnt ever been rebuilt then expect it later on down the road.

check all fluids and smell tranny oil. Smell if it smells burnt. CHeck airconditioning and heat drive with windows down to hear engine.
