Default lookin for help

so my gf just told me her car is messin up. im in iraq so i cant actually help that much, and troubleshoot it. she says when she hits the gas to go, it car will kinda studder. said the miles per hour will start going up when she gets on the gas and drop a couple miles per hour for a sec then take back off. i myself said maybe the cat clogged up? or the fuel filter goin bad? any ideas guys? she just got a tune up.

What kind of car? How many miles on it? What engine/trans?

1990 Cadillac sedan deville about 115k. i gotta go for a little bit but i will get back on in bout an hour or so to check replies. thanks guys.

4.5 Litre V-8..... Is that the dual overhead cam feller?

Possibly fuel pump, or tune up parts, (which are limited, as I believe the caddy is distributorless?)

How mechanically inclined is your girlfriend?

if she aint mech inclined maybe you could give town...maybe a local member would be willing to help....but also understand if you dont want to give that out....
