Default Installing A Hitch, Have A Question

After doing a search, I came up with nothing relating to my particular question, so here goes:

My truck did not come with the towing package, so it doesn't have a hitch. I bought a factory one from a junkyard, and I need to know what kind of bolts to use to bolt it to the frame. (Hitch was already off the truck when I bought it). I don't want to just go to Home Depot and buy bolts that fit, but aren't strong enough for hitch/towing duty. What kind of bolts will I need, and are they something I could find a Home Depot/Lowes kind of place? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As pcfixerpro said, use grade 8 bolts. I also recommend that you use flat washers on both sides and helical spring lock washers between nuts and washers, along with some thread locker. Personally, I'd use the high strength thread locker that requires heat or impact tools for removal -- after ensuring that everything lines up nicely and can stay forever right where you put it.

Also, if the hitch came from a model year 1998-2000, see the details of Safety Recall #872.

Is a Grade 8 something I can get at a hardware place, or would I need to find an auto accessories store that would sell that?

A well stocked hardware store will have grade 8 bolts.

Than you just have to wire in the 7 and 4 pin.

Pcfixerpro, I think we have almost identical trucks, aside from the mods we have made. Same color, same engine, same trim level, ect. And both in PA, too.
