Actually,I just took a guess at the back window, because there was a package for the ST Rams that was called the "Wheel Plus Package" that included the chrome steel wheels I have in my sig and the sliding rear window together. If you look at a lot of base model Rams, you'll see they have the plain steel rims and a solid back window, or the chrome ones and a slider. Greg, I like the wheels you have on it now, they're the same ones I had on my 1999 SLT Ram.

Learn something new every day, I was un-aware about that package so thanks for the info. As far as the rims, yeah it needed an upgrade although the steel wheels and chrome trim rings did grow on me there for a while. The alloy's are in pretty good shape and for $100 on craigslist for the set I couldn't pass up the upgrade.

Yeah, there are some great deasl to be had on Craigslist. I got the 285/75/16 tires on my truck from there, the 245's were just a little too small. I also got tires cheap for my Camaro on there too. According to my window sticker, the Wheel Plus Group saved $270 vs buying the slider and styled steel rims as seperate options, and was only available on the ST (I guess cause most of the SLT trucks same with aluminum wheels). I actually do like the plain steelies though, just looks like a real truck (rubber floor, vinyl trim seats, manual windows), just like a truck should be.

I have a 96 Sport SLT, with the chrome steel wheels, and the rear slider?

I gave up trying to understand option packages years ago.

You could get the rims and the window on any model Ram, I think that discount was only the base models though. Who knows, I'm with you, the option packages are confusing a lot of the time.

Ok, sorry to drag up a somewhat old thread, but I have a question. Someone told me to use carriage bolts to put the hitch on, aren't they nomally used only on wood and furniture type of things, and wouldn't be nearly strong enough for the stress a loaded hitch would face?

(Hitch was already off the truck when I bought it). I don't want to just go to Home Depot and buy bolts that fit, but aren't strong enough for hitch/towing duty. What kind of bolts will I need, and are they something I could find a Home Depot/Lowes kind of place? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Grade 5 bolts will work just fine. They have a proof load of over 80,000 PSI. So don't go out of your way to hunt down grade 8 hardware if it's hard to find around you. Grade 8 will work just fine as well.

The bolts will be holding a hitch to a frame on a light duty truck, it's not like they're uniball bolts on a trophy truck.
