Yo, just wondering if Dodge ever offered a camper package at sometime. I haven't ever heard of them doing it. I know my friend has an old Chevy 2500, with the "camper package" it came with 1 ton springs and axles...

 

I think so. One guy over on dt (2500 ctd) says his truck has it.

 

Yeah, you just had to supply the camper. \/

 

We have a 2500 with the 360 and one ton springs at work. Its called the "camper special". That truck is partially the reason for buying my truck because it gets used really hard and still has no problems.

 

Nearly every different package of Ram trucks came with a different set of springs under them. Like my truck, which has no heavy duty options, has soft springs. But a 1/2 ton with the HD Service group, Towing Package, etc has a stiff set of springs.

 

haha, gotta love all these optional packages they used to put on the old trucks. You never hear of stuff like this anymore. What?! People still go camping! They should bring it back : )

 

I got my 99 2500 V10 4x4 new with factory plow, camper & tow packages.
It sits on the 3500 chassis, just doesnt have the dual wheels/fenders.. Out back have double sets of blocks & leafs per side, rear sway bars as well as much stronger front springs.(& all the other hd stuff)
Rides like a real tank when empty. Have to pay attention to the road surface if going WOT or braking hard cause it tends to skip/bounce/dance around cause suspensions so firm.
Rides nice with 1k lbs of pass/gear & 6k lbs on the hitch

 

Damn, you got a nice rig there. It's a 2nd gen 1ton single rear wheel : ) with 2500 badges..
