is this related to the plenum too? cause the other day i pulled onto the highway and had to floor it to catch up... 10 mins later the check engine light popped on.

well a scanner told me about the missfire, so i assumed plugs/wires.
WRONG. the light came on again today, same thing just had to pass someone on a two lane highway.
well anyways is this related to a leaky plenum? cause i have one on the way.

 

No, I'm sure this is a different problem. A CEL reading a cylinder misfire will have nothing to do with your plenum-blow out. On the plugs and wires, do you put new ones in? A whole new set or just for the one problem cylinder?

 

How are you plug wires routed? There was a Technical Service Bulletin about this particular problem.

 

well i replaced all 8 plugs. the wires were replaced about 3000mi ago. so i assumed they were still good. i might have to change the way that they were routed.
the PO used zip ties to keep all the wires together. i read somewhere on here that if the wires touch make them hit each other on a 90 degree angle. is this correct?
i do alot of my research at like 1-2 am cause of work so some of the stuff im not sure where i read it.

 

could be the pick-up coil.. went round and round with the same problem on my 318 durango. make sure you cap and rotor have brass contacts as well.
