Well, I guess it time...
I can't let my wife see this thread, I am a few days away from 13 years with my regular cab and with 2 kids she has has been trying to make me sell it for the last few years. I have been trying to tell her we need to keep it till my boy can drive it, only 13 more years!
Dude it takes some big kahones to sell a truck so dear, especially since you bought it new. Hope the 3rd gen works out for ya, you sure had a sweet 2nd gen RCSB. BTW no hard feelings on TOTM you have the nicest yellow tuck I've seen on the Forum!

Thanks! If I have half as much fun as I did with my 2nd gen I will be happy.
Well I'll be. See, like I said, I need to do some homework! How the hell can it work on the old 5.9's and on the Hemi? Blows my mind.
Yeah, it took me along while to talk myself into selling it. But, it just was the most logical thing for me to do at this point in time.
Yeah, I don't have any hard feelings, that kind of loss doesn't bother me at all. How can you have hard feelings when loosing to a nice looking truck like yours (and the others). But, you surely didn't have to walk away with it so quickly, bigmeanybuttslick

Hahahahahahaha!
Yeah, my wife has been on me for the last year (since just before our boy was born) to trade olyelr up on a 4 door, but I kept telling her I would never sell it in a million years. Once I decided for myself that it was the more practical thing to do, then she started back peddling and telling me to keep it (mainly because she doesn't want to listen to me whine/cry for the next few years - or more).
But, in all honesty (about keeping it for your kid), that was my plan too! I wanted to just keep driving/maintaining it for another 12-15 years then when my boy is old enough we could restore it for his first vehicle (by that time most of the metal would have been GONE!). I thought that would be sweet as all get-out... he would be driving the same very truck his old man bought new when he was his age. But, it just didn't work out that way for me.
If you are in the situation to keep it, I definitely would. Unfortunately, I could use the extra money from selling it, didn't really have a place to store/park it, and couldn't justify having plates/insurance on a "toy" at this point in time. Oh well, maybe the young fella will sell it back to me down the road
Sometimes I hate 'logic', and 'practicality'. That was what prompted the sale of my firebird. I really hated to see it go, but, with the new situation and all, it just wasn't the right vehicle to have. Broke my heart to have to sell it, but, like you, I didn't have a place to store it, couldn't afford to keep it plated/insured, and just couldn't fit the family I know have, and didn't cater well to my disability. (It was easy to get in, VERY difficult to get out.

Life just isn't very much fun on occasion. Suppose that goes with the whole 'responsible adult' thing. Damn.

...See, PurplDodge has a soft side too.
But Damn, you should have bought this:

Pick up August 2010 of Off-Road magazine and read all about it.
BTW I sold Purpl and bought 6 S-10s! (And a Deere!) They were out of gas so the PO knocked the price in half!
