Make sure its a truck trailer not a car trailer and strap it down good.

my 01 regular cab, short bed, 4wd weighs about 5200-5400 over at the scale at the dump. so - check your weight capacity on the trailer. i've got a 14ft Budget trailer out in the driveway now for a move to Iowa. its an aluminum trailer, gross weight 6000, trailer weight 1600. so vehicle payload weight is only 4400.

I had my old 95 reg. cab long bed on an 18 foot car trailer, it just barely fit between the fenders.

Yeah I was planning to borrow a trailer to haul my truck to the transmission shop. We now have started to wonder if it's going to fit between the fenders with the wide tires that stick out the side. I'm hoping so, but I think we are going to have to measure and maybe do some praying.

Do you guys know if these fit on a u haul trailer for sure? Also what do the u hauls cost? Just wondering if it's cheaper to rent one of those if it doesn't fit on my buddies than to have it towed. I'm taking it to a place about 30 miles away.

For that you'd be better off with a tow dolly, and a full-sized dolly will certainly do the job.

I don't want to have to pull the drive shaft and don't you have to with a dolly?

you don't have to pull the driveshaft. Put it in neutral.
