ebay projector lights
a couple months ago i bought a set of them, the ones with the projectors in the middle and the regular bulbs next to them. so theres a total of 4 headlight bulbs all together.
Now when i turn the lights on, the highbeam indicator is always lit up and when i click to turn the highbeams on, it also turns on the regular style lights with the projectors, the problem is this actually makes the light output a lot dimmer and useless.
my truck is a sport model, idk why but the ad said these lights wouldnt work with a sport model. is there a solution to this problem? maybe unplugging the regular style bulbs(idk the name for them)?
has anyone else bought these lights? id get pics now but my camera is dead

I've had several friends, most of them GMC owners, purchase these types of lights.
They are wired incorrectly from the Chinese (or whichever Asian country) factory that they come from. You'll need to cut and splice wires to get them to work right. You'll need a basic electrical kit, along with a multimeter.

No don't cut!
Swap the blue and black pins in the projector light harness. The pins can be backed out by depressing a tab on the front side of each pin with a very small flat head screwdriver (like eyeglass size). There is a little tab at the top of each pin that holds them into the blue harness , it's not in the back where the wire connects, it's in the front where the pin is (at the top look carefully). You can depress that tab and back the pin out. No cutting or hacking required.
Swap the black and blue line and she'll work great. It will be harder to see at night with standard h1 bulbs, you'll realy want to invest in HIDs at this point. And the HIDs work great!
I believe they were wired for a 9007 bulb (sport model), not our stock 9004 bulb.

yea i was gonna try that first, i did that once on my last truck i put ebay HIDs in. ill try that.
Also another thing i probably need pics for, i wanna get HIDs but i dont know what kind of bulb the one in the projector housing is, theres no plastic backing on it and ive never seen a bulb like it before.
the other bulb is kind of like a 9007 but i think the connection is a little smaller or something than most ive seen. i tried to swap it with a 9007 out of another car.

that did the trick, just swapped the black and blue wires, thanks for the help guys. I didnt think itd be so easy.
and yea i guess youd have to get a new projector, i have some from a corvette, but they wouldnt work with the stock wiring for some reason. i wanted to get hids in the projectors too.

That is an H1 style bulb. You can remove it and take it into the parts store for a visual comparison to verify.
For HIDs, just get the H1 HID kit for a Dodge Ram and wire it in. There are several kits out there, my best advice is that whomever you buy from, make sure you get Philips Ballasts.
