Default Should I use a tailgate seal with a bed cover?

I recently got a new bed cover, which came with a free tailgate seal, which basically looks like weather stripping that installs between the bed and tailgate. But I'm hesitant to install the seal, because I assumed that the bed was designed to drain between the bed and tailgate. I know I shouldn't get water in the bed with the bed cover, but I still wonder whether I should install the seal.

Does anyone have any experience with a tailgate seal? Any opinions on whether I should or should not install it?

Thanks!

My Undercover did not come with one. If you know that your cover does not leak install it you so desire but why? I have no need for a seal.

My bed gets a little wet at the tailgate with my cover, but not too bad. I would install it if I hauled mummies all the time.

There are also small drains at the front of the bed as well.
