94 dodge ram 5spd 4x4 shifter boot switch

like the title says its a '94 dodge ram 5spd 4x4 it has the original leather shifter boot that looks like a deflated basketball can it be switched to the newer second gen boot or any other boot ie ford boot, chevy, blah blah blah. thanks for answering.
