Hey guys I just bought this electric fan kit from a very reputable seller on ebay. Says the kit is made for this particular series of trucks and comes with:

Two FF DYNAMICS 3000 CFM S blade quiet cooling fans with ball bearing motors matched for your radiator
Two cooling fan installation kits to mount the fans to the radiator
One fully adjustable electronic thermostatic cooling fan control module with air conditioning circuit.

^Is this really everything I need to do the install or is there something missing? Won't be able to run down to the auto store in middle of this install...
Also, has anyone here installed these kits or conversions? If so, how difficult is it to do? And do you have any tips to make it easier? One more thing, how and where should I mount the original wiper fluid and coolant bottles???

Have ya'll noticed good increases in performance and gas mileage? Anyone with experience or help on this I would like to hear from you! Never installed one of these b4...

 

thats it, and if you have problems that require a stop at the parts store as long as your doing at least 30mph the truck will keep cool enough anyways.

take some pics and do a simple DIY report. doesn't have to be fancy, just enough to help others.

 

You may need some various wire connectors, wire cutting, and crimping tools. I would also suggest a small butane torch or heat gun and using heat shrink connectors, as the electrical wiring is all at the front of the engine bay and will be subject to rain exposure.

Please post up a photo of the kit when you get it, or even the link to the sale on ebay. That'll help with part identification, and let us know if you got a good deal.

i was looking at it about a year ago stealing ideas to make my own,,,, but just when with the mark v111

 

i always thought it would be cool to install some new fans and set it up on a switch inside the cab. maybe its just the crew chief on f16s coming out in me aha.

 

make sure the fan has the blades in the correct direction. Some fans pull air out of the motor while some push air into the motor

 

well with that alls you have to do is wire it backwards if its not blowing in the right direction

If it was straight blades, perhaps. However, s-blades or curved blades are made to go in one direction, IIRC, and if you were to somehow reverse their spin, I doubt you'd get the right amount airflow. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

However, I believe the OP was referring to these.

The reserve bottle and the wiper bottle will have to be zip tied or otherwise attached near their original spots, if you can't fit the original fan shroud around those fans.
